Whilst we cannot meet together in person, we have introduced some weekly opportunities for joining together virtually using the online platform ‘Zoom’, which will allow us to see one another’s faces as we share in church life.
Below are brief descriptions of the groups and what is planned for each. Instructions for joining in with the groups can be found here.
Monday Morning Book Club
10.00am from 18th May
This is our new Monday morning ‘Zoom’ book club. We will be reading together and learning more about the book ‘A Pilgrim’s Progress’ by John Bunyan.
If you would like to join us for this book club, please contact the Vicar via email@example.com or 01367 253651. He will then send you a few further details to help with joining the meeting using Zoom.
Thursday Evening Church Gathering
7:20pm – for 8 weeks (from 23rd April)
This is our Thursday evening church gathering on ‘Zoom’. We will spend the first 30 minutes together, when we will share in a hymn, some prayers and a short Bible video presentation. After this there will be a short break, (whilst a song will be played), allowing everyone who wants to applaud the NHS to join neighbours in the street. At 8:05 we invite you to return to your devices, at which point we will move into Zoom ‘breakout rooms’, which are smaller groups with hosts who will lead a Bible reading, with the chance to share thoughts, and any prayer needs if desired for a further 30-40 minutes. No one will be asked to read or pray out loud, except whilst we join together for the Lord’s Prayer, so if you only feel comfortable watching, that will be fine.
If you would like to join us for these Thursday gatherings, it would be very helpful to let Kate know in advance via firstname.lastname@example.org or 01367 253651. She can then send you a few further details to help with joining the meeting and growing in confidence using Zoom.
Wednesday Morning Prayer Meeting
10am (from 22nd April until the church building reopens)
Under normal circumstances, a small group from our church family meet every Wednesday morning to pray for our Church, our Community, our Nation and our World, together with specific personal prayer needs of individuals known to us. Now that we cannot meet in person, we are going to meet online via Zoom, at the slightly later start time of 10am for 30 minutes. You are welcome to join us, whether you have ever been to a prayer meeting or not. There is no pressure to pray out loud.
