Church Leadership
St Lawrence is a growing Church which
is supported and led by a mixed team of staff members and lay
participants. Though all members of St Lawrence have a role to play key
members of the team are described below:
Team Vicar
|
Rev'd Dr Andrew Cinnamond was brought up in Belfast and went to the University of
St Andrews, Scotland, where he obtained an MA in English Literature. Before
training for the ministry, he worked for a couple of investment
banks in the City of London. Andrew trained for ordination at
Wycliffe Hall, Oxford and has served at Holy Trinty, Clapham and All Saints with Holy Trinity, Wandsworth,
London. He has completed a PhD at the London School of
Theology. Andrew is married to Kate and they
have two children. His sporting interests include following the
fluctuating fortunes of the Irish Rugby team! |
 |
Youth Worker
|
Chris Saunders, Deanery Youth Worker, has served as a
full-time youth worker for over 15 years in far-flung settings
such as Aberystwyth, Walsall and Ukraine. When he’s not looking
for ways to include his toddler son in his sermon illustrations
he enjoys watching (successful) Welsh rugby! |
Ministry Team
Readers assist in the leading of services and preaching. They are Gordon Land,
Maureen
Partington, Susan Holmes
and Ian Taylor. Rob Mitchell is training to be a Reader. Bishop Peter Vaughan, Rev'd
Andrew Kirk, Rev'd David Bainbridge and Rev'd Graham Martin, all retired ministers, also regularly assist with
services. Together with the Vicar, they form a Ministry Team.
Church Wardens
 |
Church Wardens, Paul Cobb
and Christine
Vagnolini,
both provide an important leadership role within the Church as well
as taking responsibility for the smooth operation and maintenance
of the facilities and buildings. |
 |
PCC
The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is the constitutional
governing body of the church. All on the Electoral
Roll may vote to appoint representatives to the PCC. Elections are
held at the Annual Church Meeting with PCC Members appointed for a
3 year term.
