News and Events ‘All Age Youth Service’ - a service for youth and the young at heart! The Deanery youth service is now established in Lechlade. It’s open to everyone (of any age), featuring contemporary praise and worship music, and a message, often with involvement from the young people themselves. It’s been great to have some adults from the congregation there too, to bolster the singing. Perhaps also you may know someone who’d appreciate this informal style of service and be keen to come along? Last Sunday of the month, 7.45 pm – 9 pm. 28th September, 26th October, 23rd November. Parish prayer meeting Everyone is most welcome to the prayer meeting. Usually we have a small set of topics for prayer which are briefly introduced. Prayer may be silent or out loud, and it does not matter if there are pauses or if two people speak at once! Typically, the prayer meeting lasts for forty five minutes. 8 pm in the Cottage, 14th August, 18th Sept, 29th Oct, 10th Dec. Contact Christopher, 252262 Our Autumn fellowship and study groups Faith under Fire – the first few chapters of the book of Daniel. How do Christians live in a secular world? What are the issues we ought to make a stand on, and when should we be willing to fit in? Are we experiencing a form of persecution? A fascinating study course in 6 sessions, working through the first few chapter of the book of Daniel. And if you thought it was just a good story about the lion’s den, then think again! Everyone is welcome, however confident in your faith (or not!) you feel. There is usually a mixture of informal discussion, Bible study, teaching input and prayer. No one has to contribute, although we find people are usually very happy to do so. It is usually possible to come to another group if one particular date is difficult for you. Due to diary commitments the groups will not all be meeting during the same weeks, so this time we ask that you please sign up by contacting group leaders directly. Groups will be meeting at: Mondays at 2pm in the Cottage (ladies only, contact Tessa Cobb) starting on Mondays at 8 pm, at 5 Chancel Way, Contact Richard Akroyd Tuesday evenings on the Sept 16, 22, 30 and Oct 28, Nov 4, Nov 11th at 2 Kingsmead, – contact David Bainbridge In Depth Wednesday 26th November, 7.45 pm, in Church ‘In Depth’ gives the opportunity to explore an issue in more depth than would be possible in a sermon or study group.
